Petrus Romanus, Revelations 17, 8 Kings, Pope John Paul II Resurrection, The Antichrist

I stayed up very late last night writing notes and have found what you could call a problem with the John Paul II resurrection idea. Sorry to beat this with a stick but I think it's relevant and is happening NOW. Something is happening anyway...
The problem doesn't really lie in his possible resurrection but the bible verse quoted about the 8 kings. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, Chris Putnam said that this idea is a Seventh Day Adventist idea... I don't know if it is. I do know that the video was made by a website called "World's Last Chance."
But before I go into breaking down why I don't think this theory is holding up, watch the 2-part video that seems to be the main online source of this idea:

Revelation 17:10-11 from a few different Bible versions
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. [KJV]
10 five have fallen, one is living now and the other is yet to come; and when he does come, he must remain only a little while. 11 The beast which once was and now is not is an eighth king; it comes from the seven and is on its way to destruction.[Complete Jewish Bible/CJB]
No need for me to list all the different versions, when it  comes to these verses they are all practically the same. So according to this video, the five fallen (dead) popes are:
*1929, countdown begins with the signing of the Lateran Treaty*
King 1: Pius XI (1922-1939)
King 2: Pius XII (1939-1958)
King 3: John XXIII (1958-1963)
King 4: Paul VI (1963-1978)
King 5: John Paul I (1978)
----^^^----5 are fallen
King 6: John Paul II (1978-2005)
---^^^---one is
King 7: Benedict XXVI (2005-2013)
---^^^----one is yet to come and will reign for a short time

King 8: ????? (2013-20??)
---^^^----is "of the 7", is a beast that goes into perdition

I just realized now that World's Last Change may have come up with this theory when Pope John Paul II was still alive. But how can we assume that the prophecy was written with that era in mind? And they are trying to fit this prophecy into St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes which states the 112th pope (the very next one) is the last.In the video the narrator states: "If we exclude the shortest reign of John Paul I, it would seem that a short space would be anywhere between 5 and 10 years."

I don't know WHAT version of the Bible they are reading but it seems they have twisted it up. How can John Paul II be considered the Pope that IS?

And what do they mean "of the 7" or "from the 7)? It doesn't say "ONE OF the 7 kings"... just of the 7. Why assume that it means it will be one of the dead popes? Can't it just mean that he will maybe be from one of their orders or something?

The narrator also states the the angel tells us THREE TIMES that the 8th beast was, is not, and shall be. I don't see the last part written in the Bible about "shall be again." Seems they are twisting words and taking liberties so it will fit in to what they want it to say...

Now, what do I think will happen? I don't know. The St. Malachy Prophecy of the Popes is very impressive. Guess we will first find out who the next pope will be, now that all the cardinals have arrived. The word on the street is that they hope to choose a Pope before "Holy Week" which is the last week of this month.
Will Rome be destroyed during the conclave? I don't know. Things are happening in the world that seem to be like the puzzle pieces are falling into place. Obama is set to visit Jerusalem, five days before Passover. Sound familiar? And with all the people convinced that Obama is the antichrist, or some other evil entity, that is significant. Also that they have erected an ice-sculpture of him near the Temple Mount. Is this the "Obamanation of Desolation"? And now, N. Korea vowing to nuke the US. Dangerous times we are living in, for sure.
We shall see...

Petrus Romanus Theory: John Paul II

I mentioned only briefly in my previous Prophecy of the Popes post what is probably the oddest of Petrus Romanus theories. This theory being that Pope John Paul II will rise up from his tomb and amaze the world and come back as the evil ruler or not just the Vatican but the world (NWO, which he indeed did call for in his lifetime).

According to author and theologian Chris Putnam, this is a Seventh Day Adventist theory but there is a very compelling logic behind the theory. It wasn't just pulled out of a hat and made to look neat.
In the Book of Revelation, there is mention of 8 kings. The kings are widely believed to be Popes. The 8th King/Pope is one of the earlier 7 Popes. The angel speaking to John of Patmos emphasizes the 6th King/Pope who happens to be John Paul II. Where are we counting from? Since the Lateran Treaty was signed on February 11, 1929. Notice something about the date? Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation on February 11, 2013! That's Eighty-four years to the day!
Pope Benedict XVI has retired to Castle Gandolfo. Some more info tying his new place of residence to the Lateran Treaty, directly from the Vatican website:
With the Lateran Treaty of 1929, Italy recognized the full ownership by the Holy See of the Pontifical Palace of Castel Gandolfo along with the adjacent Villa del Moro and Villa Cybo, and further agreed to hand over “the Villa Barberini in Castel Gandolfo along with all of its endowments, appurtenances and dependencies” (cf. Lateran Treaty, art. 14). Sometime later Pope Pius XI wanted to make the papal residence complete with the acquisition of some orchards near Albano in order to establish a small farm. [source]

Pope John Paul II has a webcam fixed on his tomb so anyone with an internet connection can view it. The given reason for this is that so people can take a virtual pilgrimage to his tomb. Well, then why don't they set up a webcam to some other pope's tombs? Will they set up a webcam for Pope Benedict XVI when he goes? [See the webcam here: http://www.vaticanstate.va/EN/Monuments/webcam/index?cam=webcam2&testo=Tomba%20di%20Giovanni%20Paolo%20II]

Another oddity I found while researching this topic is this article about Pope John Paul II's Facebook Resurrection. It was reported in the AP but the article is no longer available through cliking the link in this article/blog post. I wanted to link to his Facebook page (or is it a regular profile?) but could not decided which one it was! Maybe it was taken down? Anywho, it's like they're trying to get the public ready so if he does return it won't be a complete shock. But I think it's safe to say, if anyone arose from the dead after so many years, nothing would soften the blow to the senses.

The chilling thing to consider is, this lines up with the idea that the next pope, whoever it may be, is the final pope before Rome is destroyed and "the terrible judge judges his people."

Here is the video floating around Youtube (in 2 parts):
PS: Don't forget to vote on the poll (in the left hand column of this blog). It looks like a tie so far!

Petrus Romanus, St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Pope

In April of 2012, almost a full year ago, I purchased Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope Is Here by Tom Horn and Chris Putnam after seeing/hearing several interviews they did. I found the topic of St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes intriguing. I'm not a Catholic but that doesn't matter. The authors themselves are Protestants and they give a good explanation of why you can or even should listen to prophecies people outside your own Christian views (if you are a Christian.) One only needs to read the Bible to see that God uses non-believers, pagans, etc. to give prophecies to.

(*I'm sure you're all pondering if I am a Christian. It shouldn't really matter but a quick rundown: My beliefs don't fit into the standard Protestant view. So a Protestant would say NO. But I do believe in Jesus and that he was a special being and I do believe there is a God/matrix/consciousness... as you see, it's a wider view than just what you find in the Bible. I don't think the Bible is the unchanged word of God. Etc. Etc. Regardless, I am pretty much obsessed with Christianity.. I mean I minored in religious philosophy in university for crying out loud. But let's get back to the topic at hand.)

The Prophecy of the Popes lists 112. Our current Pope Benedict XVI (the second to last on the list) just announced his resignation which shocked the world. But I wasn't shocked. I was expecting that he would die (by assassination due to the rumors that have been popping up about plots within the Vatican) or step down. It is highly unusual. The last time a pope stepped down was 600 years ago! Popes are expected to serve until death. Benedict XVI cited failing health but remember the previous pope John Paul II? The next pope will be, according to St. Malachy, is Petrus Romanus (Peter the Roman) the very last pope before the destruction of Rome. The accuracy of this long list is astonishing. We will know in the latter part of March who the new pope is. Who do I think it will be? I think it will be Cardinal Tarcisio Pietro Evasio Bertone, the camerlengo to Pope Benedict XVI. Many in the Vatican do not like him from what I've heard but I feel it will be him. My second choice is Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana. But he is apparently ruining his chances by talking to the media in the way he has been. Frankly, I'd be surprised if it wasn't Turkson or Bertone.

One theory I've heard mentioned by one or two people that would be most shocking is if the most loved pope of all, Pope John Paul II came back from the dead (resurrected) and reclaimed the position of pope. Can you imagine how many people would flock to the Catholic church is something like that happened? [I made a post specifically dedicated to this idea HERE]

Take the poll to the left. Who do YOU think the next pope will be?

My rating for the book is 4/5 stars.
The book comes with a info DVD packed with pdf files of complete books that are relevant to this prophecy.
Only the first half of the book really deals with the prophecy but that's not to say the second half of the book is not pertinent. It is! If you're observing the news with this prophecy in mind, the second half of this book will definitely serve as a guide.
I took a star off because there are a few problems with the book... if you can call it that. Catholics may find offense with the book, although I think the two staunchly Protestant authors did their best to keep their fundamentalism at bay. If anything is anti-Catholic it would be found in Section 2 and 3. Trust me, we've all seen far worse. I don't think this book is Catholic bashing. Opposing Catholicism? Yes. Bashing? Not exactly. Putnam and Horn actually do give props to Catholic prophecy in explaining why Christians shouldn't ignore them, as I mentioned before! Seems level-headed enough. This isn't Jack Chick-type hate literature. Trust me, I've got a whole box of Chick lit (fundamentalist Christian gospel tracts)... and that stuff is pretty scary when you realize some people take it seriously! So a fair warning to any Catholics: the authors do speak out against Marian apparitions, popes, church history and the like but if you can put up with that or not hold it against the author, they do offer good information on the prophecy itself. I mean, I don't even agree with the author's Protestantism but did very much enjoy the book. (It's sad when people hate a non-fiction book because the authors don't believe the same exact thing they do. Why does everything have to be so black and white with some people?)

Putnam and Horn painstakingly take the reader through the prophecy which includes a lot of numerology and symbology and that chapter may cause the reader to throw their hands up in defeat. Please don't. If the numbers are too much, you can skip that chapter and still understand the prophecy.

Just to give you a good idea of what is included in this book, I have typed out the entire table of contents:
