The problem doesn't really lie in his possible resurrection but the bible verse quoted about the 8 kings. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, Chris Putnam
But before I go into breaking down why I don't think this theory is holding up, watch the 2-part video that seems to be the main online source of this idea:
Revelation 17:10-11 from a few different Bible versions
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. [KJV]
10 five have fallen, one is living now and the other is yet to come; and when he does come, he must remain only a little while. 11 The beast which once was and now is not is an eighth king; it comes from the seven and is on its way to destruction.[Complete Jewish Bible/CJBNo need for me to list all the different versions, when it comes to these verses they are all practically the same. So according to this video, the five fallen (dead) popes are:]
*1929, countdown begins with the signing of the Lateran Treaty*
King 1: Pius XI (1922-1939)
King 2: Pius XII (1939-1958)
King 3: John XXIII (1958-1963)
King 4: Paul VI (1963-1978)
King 5: John Paul I (1978)
----^^^----5 are fallen
King 6: John Paul II (1978-2005)
---^^^---one is
King 7: Benedict XXVI (2005-2013)
---^^^----one is yet to come and will reign for a short time
King 8: ????? (2013-20??)
---^^^----is "of the 7", is a beast that goes into perdition
I just realized now that World's Last Change may have come up with this theory when Pope John Paul II was still alive. But how can we assume that the prophecy was written with that era in mind? And they are trying to fit this prophecy into St. Malachy's Prophecy of the Popes which states the 112th pope (the very next one) is the last.In the video the narrator states: "If we exclude the shortest reign of John Paul I, it would seem that a short space would be anywhere between 5 and 10 years."
I don't know WHAT version of the Bible they are reading but it seems they have twisted it up. How can John Paul II be considered the Pope that IS?
And what do they mean "of the 7" or "from the 7)? It doesn't say "ONE OF the 7 kings"... just of the 7. Why assume that it means it will be one of the dead popes? Can't it just mean that he will maybe be from one of their orders or something?
The narrator also states the the angel tells us THREE TIMES that the 8th beast was, is not, and shall be. I don't see the last part written in the Bible about "shall be again." Seems they are twisting words and taking liberties so it will fit in to what they want it to say...
Now, what do I think will happen? I don't know. The St. Malachy Prophecy of the Popes is very impressive. Guess we will first find out who the next pope will be, now that all the cardinals have arrived. The word on the street is that they hope to choose a Pope before "Holy Week" which is the last week of this month.
Will Rome be destroyed during the conclave? I don't know. Things are happening in the world that seem to be like the puzzle pieces are falling into place. Obama is set to visit Jerusalem, five days before Passover. Sound familiar? And with all the people convinced that Obama is the antichrist, or some other evil entity, that is significant. Also that they have erected an ice-sculpture of him near the Temple Mount. Is this the "Obamanation of Desolation"? And now, N. Korea vowing to nuke the US. Dangerous times we are living in, for sure.
We shall see...
