I arose and turned the TV on in my room and watched the plumes of gray smoke
rising from the mamouth sized skyscraper. I couldn't take my eyes away. I felt inside of me that this was serious. This was no accident. I felt so even before the second plane hit. And when that happened, that just sealed the deal. I kept thinking: This is war... we're going to war!
And I remember not long after that, we went to war in Iraq. i remember staying up and watching the LIVE night vision footage of our guys shooting and bombing. I never felt so patriotic before but I was really proud that we got right on it. Of course as the days, weeks and months went on, I realized that things weren't adding up. Maybe we shouldn't have been in Iraq. Now I am under the belief that we should be at war with Iran if with anyone. They are out true enemies. What's in Iraq? Dirt. Poor unarmed, confused people. I think by being there we morph otherwise harmless friendly Iraqis into America-hating future terrorists. I feel sick thinking of all the soldiers we lost there. I'm very supportive of our military. I come from a military family. Grew up on a base. Even had a stint in ROTC! I just wish we would go to war with people who need to be dealt with. I would be 100% behind a war with Iran. They hate us and openly so. I'm sure it's not that simple. It's not as simple as, let's go to war with Iran...boom boom... there you go. I'm sure they've got support from other countries making it near impossible for us to just go for it.
