According to parents, Colin Dalebroux committed suicide. He had mental health issued (depression). Friends also confirm this. I'm not sure how they're 100% it's a suicide. They say the 2nd bomb was probably a back up.
It's just such an unusual way for someone in the US to kill themselves. Not that it hasn't been done before. Sure it has. But usually, males will shoot themselves or hang themselves.
I guess he went through the trouble of learning how to make a bomb just to do this? I don't know. I doesn't appear that police have released the motive yet.

The body of Colin Dalebroux, 21, was found near a middle school close to his apartment in Evanston, Illinois, on Tuesday, CNN affiliates reported, citing local police.WGN-TV reported that a man walking his dog in a park found the body when his pet tugged at his leash. [CNN]
Not sure what to make of this one. There are many possibilities:
- He could have made the pipe-bomb and was transporting it when it went off.
- He could have seen it on the ground and made the mistake of disturbing it.
- Someone could have sent him with the package as a delivery.
- Etc. Etc.
But the FBI are in on this case and searching his computer. I'd like to know what they find. I'm almost hoping he was a terrorist because if he was, maybe we can get more info from his house that implicates others and hunt them down!
But I did a Facebook search and I think I found his profile page. I'm pretty sure it's him.: http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=504098578&ref=search
At first glance this doesn't seem like a terrorist incident to me.If that's the case, that he had nothing to do with the bombs, very sad indeed. BUT further in the article it states:
The device was safely rendered inoperable, authorities said. Police believe the victim had two explosive devices, thought to be pipe bombs: the one that was dismantled and "one of which detonated ending his own life."

This is just so bizarre. I don't know what to make of it. I think come tomorrow we'll have a few more interesting details come out.
