Q: Jared Lee Loughner - a loner with many talkative friends?

I will be making posts here and there about questions I have about this case.

I keep hearing from different news sources about his friends said this, his friends said that about him. What friends? He was a loner, was he not? What loner has friends? I mean REAL, reliable friends.
I myself am a loner, I'll admit. I don't hang out with anyone. I'm just a bit of an introvert that way.
I DO have people that I list under "friends" under various social networking sites but I never hang out with these people or even speak to them on the phone. They're just the few (less than 20) people that I met in high school and college and did not take a disliking to and somehow kept in contact (be it infrequent contact).

But I think about it this way: If I were to commit some heinous crime that made national or even international news, would these few "friends" of mine blab about me to the media as if we were close friends? How much do these "friends" of mine know about me? My answer is: hardly anything.
So I can just imagine how many people will come out of the wood-works for their 15 minutes of fame. People I may have had a class with in college. People I may have been introduced to but not spoken to besides that. Are these people "friends"? HELL NO, they're not! They don't know anything about me.
And this can be applied to Loughner (or any other notorious suspect you see on the news).

What a farce! Either he wasn't the loner the media has portrayed him to be. Or these people are not actual friends of his but merely acquaintances who aren't really in a position to speak publicly about Loughner.
