Sheriff's Release Jared Lee Loughner's Records

This was posted on KGUN9 back in January. My commentary will be in RED.

On Wednesday the Pima County Sheriff's Department released a dozen files documenting contact its  deputies have had over the years with Tucson mass shooting suspect Jared Lee Loughner and his family.   The release follows a report in the New York Times stating that deputies had been to the home many times over the years.
Jared Loughner first shows up in Pima County Sheriff's records beginning Sept. 23, 2004, when he reported a fellow student at his high school stuck him in the arm with a pin.

Loughner told deputies he became dizzy and had to be helped to the school nurse.

Loughner's parents decided not to press charges against the student. They did want
the student to disclose whether he was HIV positive, however. What on EARTH was on that pin!? How common is it for students to go around sticking others with needles? That is SICK! I wonder why his parents did not press charges. For privacy maybe? That clearly is ASSAULT. I wonder if he was infected with something. Or maybe a toxin? Who was the student? Was he working for someone? Sound very MK Ultra to me. **The kid's name is Anthony R. Kurz. Found it on the crime report released by the Sheriffs Dept. Maybe this is him: http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100000801872982 ...says he likes tattoos. Live in Tuscon. Maybe he made a tattoo pen. So many people did that at my high school. Giving themselves INFECTIONS trying to hard to be "cool."

The student told authorities he may have poked Jared with his needle-pen contraption that he made, but he didn't remember if he had. How could you not remember assaulting someone purposefully with a needle? And they just let the idiot go!
No one was arrested in this incident.
On May 12, 2006, Loughner was referred to Juvenile Court for being a minor in  possession of liquor. The outcome of that case could not be determined Wednesday. Juvenile Court records are sealed by law.

It was the assistant principal of his high school, Mountain View, in Marana, who contacted authorities. She said Loughner had been in the nurse's office "currently  under the influence of some type of intoxicant, most likely vodka."

Loughner was taken to Northwest Hospital because he was so intoxicated, a sheriff's report says.

He told emergency room workers he had drunk 350 ml of vodka between 1:30 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Loughner said he drank because his father had yelled at him and Jared got "very upset."
He said he stole the liquor from his father's liquor cabinet. I'd like to know more about his relationship with his father.

Deputies at the hospital, responding to the call from the school, said they arrested
him at the hospital for consuming alcohol. Loughner signed the arrest document and
remained at the hospital for treatment.

More than a year later, Loughner was arrested on Sept. 9, 2007 for possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, and for possession of a "multicolored" marijuana pipe, packages of Zig
Zag rolling papers and a "marijuana roach." He also had a glass marijuana pipe "with
residue" in his possession.

The marijuana was found inside a van in which he was a passenger.

"I smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming off Mr. Loughner's person," a deputy wrote in his report.

Loughner had a marijuana pipe in his front pocket. He told deputies it was his and  that he had already smoke the marijuana that was in it. He was cited and given a  court date for an initial appearance.

Loughner was able to enter a Pima County diversion program to resolve the criminal case. The case was dismissed after he completed the court-ordered program.

ABout a year later, on Oct. 2, 2008, Loughner told sheriff's deputies someone stole his identity and posted a picture of him when he was 16 on a MySpace page.

The deputy noted that Loughner was slow in answering his questions. "He often hesitated as if he was trying to think of an explanation," the deputy wrote in his report. So was it a lie? Maybe he simply forgot his password and wanted to delete the account, so made up this elaborate story? This reminds me of what Cho seung-Hui's writing mentor said. She would ask Cho a question and there would be 10-20 seconds of silence before he spoke. And those 10-20 seconds can seem like an eternity of awkwardness. Same thing?

When deputies tried to contact Laugher after this report was taken, no one answered and there was no voicemail set up. Purposeful evasion?

A man Loughner called "Alex," whom he suspected of stealing his identity, could not be located by authorities. Will we ever find out who Alex is? Or if he even really existed? Maybe it's Loughner's other identity or personality a la Fight Club?

Loughner said he reported the incident because he was trying to get a job and didn't want prospective employers seeing "someone using his identity on their profile."

Sheriff Clarence Dupnik told the Associated Press that on the morning of the Jan. 8, 2011 shooting, Jared Loughner's father saw his son take a black bag out of a car trunk.

The sheriff says the father approached Loughner, and he mumbled something [what??] and took off running. The father got in his truck and chased his son into the desert as he fled on foot, the AP said. This is just so bizarre. The image I have in my head of Jared running into the desert with a black bag. Also reminds me of his flag burning video.

Later that same morning, Jared Loughner took a cab to the Safeway store at Ina and
Oracle road, where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was meeting with constituents at 10 a.m. - her first congresswoman "on the corner" event here since the start of the 2011 Congress. [People try to turn the whole cab ride into a conspiracy, asking why Jared would take a cab when he has his own car. It's because he did not want to go back to his house to pick up his car after being chased by his father. And if he was going to assassinate Giffords, what is the point of taking his own car. I doubt he was planning on fleeing. Assassins never flee. They either kill themselves on the spot or wait around to be apprehended.]

Loughner walked inside the Safeway to change a $20 bill to pay the cab driver. Then he walked over to Giffords and shot her in the head.

He killed six people, including a child, and wounded a dozen others.
Giffords survived the shooting and is in intensive care at University Medical Center.

Loughner is in federal custody in Phoenix. He is accused in federal court of attempted assassination of a congresswoman and the killing of a federal judge. Why are government people held as more important human beings when it comes to things like this? Killing a federal worker is a worse crime than killing a child? It can get you a harsher sentence. What does that tell you about what the government thinks about us nobodies? Us have-nots?

He will be charged separately in state court for the killings of the other four victims and assaults on the other victims.

Loughner used a Glock handgun with a magazine that fired 31 rounds without reloading.
He was tackled by several people in the crowd who had come to see Giffords, as he paused to reload.
With the releasing of their records, Pima County Sheriff's spokesman Jason Ogan provided a written statement:
"The Pima County Sheriff's Department is making available all reports where the Sheriff's Department had personal contact with Jared Loughner prior to the shooting.  The following is a list of these reports:
"09/23/2004 Assault   (Victim)
"05/15/2006 Liquor Laws   (Juvenile Arrest)
"09/10/2007 Suspicious Vehicle  (Cite & Release Arrest)
"10/03/2008 Identity Theft   (Victim)
